Burt, why not sit with it for a while?
If you end up hanging onto it, and wearing it, label won't really matter. Still leaves you with options.
Or...
As the lining isn't quite authentic either and the knits appear more brown, so if I was going to swop out the label, Id have the lining and knits done also - make it more uber-authentic all round.
And ask John if he'd do it.

Im looking at replacing the mouton on my ELC B-10 and 15 at some point also to something nicer and more authentic.

If you change the label for authenticity's sake, you may have to do the liner too.
