That's the fit right there B-Man - not a single crease in the chest! WWII issue or not, that's a great cut!
So …. I’d rather have this original issued jacket and wear it, than wear a lesser grade repro. Regardless of whether it was worn by guys who had a less of a chance of dying in combat … that makes no sense to me. Guys who wore this jacket are hero’s and patriots to my way of thinking and I’m happy to wear this jacket in tribute to them .That's the fit right there B-Man - not a single crease in the chest! We call that a geralton dinner jacket here. Named after a town in northern Ontario where the roads basically end.Got this wool canadian shirt as a birthday present and now it's the perfect for such weather. YView attachment 160027es we have had some sun yesterday!

Awesome pictures. What's the story of that beautiful L-5? It must have been a blast to have owned and flown such a piece of history.A blast from my past. A buddy who moved to New Zealand was visiting for the last 3 weeks. He dug out these pictures of the day I took him up in the L-5. 34 years almost to the day. And lo and behold, there’s my second Avirex. Still havView attachment 160095View attachment 160099View attachment 160101e it but haven’t worn it in 20 plus years. And he still has the ma-1 he’s wearing in the picture.
One of many projects over the years. It was in pretty rough shape when we trailered it in. Complete restoration. It was built in 45 and served in the Louisiana national guard. After leaving the military it was used and abused in the civilian world. We bought it as an ex glider tow that had been grounded by rot in the wings years earlier. It went to the confederate airforce in California in 93 and is still there.Awesome pictures. What's the story of that beautiful L-5? And you look good in that Avirex!
Looks like one more week of morning jacket weather, and then all day jacket weather begins. I’m seeing highs of 15 on the forecast.Rounding out the first full week of jacket weather here, Gregory Sportswear 7823-D.

Are you sure this is not a 30's era colorized image....Not leather but this is a short Cathcart 'Brooklands' jacket that I got NOS from ebay. It fits my general aesthetic, being short in the body, matching my high-rise trousers.
