I'll give it a shot! Also planning on losing a bit of telework weight, so that should help too. I've been crossing my arms a lot to try and loosen the shoulders up, as that's the tightest part of the jacket right now. Any suggestions on jacket patterns with more space in the shoulders?

if it’s unworn then you’re right he may not accept offers . Did you have him send you the measurements ? That might tell you if it would fit or not , then you could weight whether to spend the extra money for a new jacket that fits or look for something else .

Rough wears always seem to fit me nicely thru the shoulders but we each have our personal preferences. Have you thought of going up a size ? The important thing in this hobby is to know your personal measurement's. This way when a jacket comes up for sale you can compare yours to the jackets and get a pretty accurate assessment of if the jacket is going to fit you.
What size do you wear ?
So this was a 46 from AVI, I probably should have ordered a 48. I have a 42.5" chest and don't know my shoulder measurement currently. I initially emailed Morten about an exchange, but I had worn the jacket enough to put creases in the arms and I decided to keep it.

Weird, with a 42.5” chest, a 46 should be a nice relaxed fit. Could you measure the jacket?
I don't have a tape measure at the moment since I'm housesitting, but this jacket measured in at 22.5" from pit to pit the last time I checked!

Hmm, that doesn’t sound right. A 46 should have somewhere in the neighborhood of a 24” pit-to-pit measurement.
I was comparing the measurements on their website to a different jacket when I was deciding between sizes, it was a headache at the time. We live and learn, I guess!

I had an AVI A2 and found that their 46s ran tight and small . I ordered a 48 and it fit more like a 46. I’m like you as I run right in between a 46 and 48. That’s why it’s so important to know your measurements and compare them to the jackets before you buy it . Believe me it will save you a ton of money and reselling tight jackets

Learn your measurements, it’s an easy process and you will always be able to figure out if a certain jacket will fit you .

@Jackdaw Nice jacket, but the pit to pit dims do seem a bit off.
I would think there are reasons for this, in this case. The way they graded their larger sizes off a 42, materials available etc
I think larger sizes are tricky, not easy to find originals in 46 and 48s to inspect & copy.
Bronco's do have higher arm holes, work best with trim fellas
They will crease a lot in the arm pit and sleeves. Quirk of the contract.
I think goat may have been a good call with this jacket, a little more forgiving.
As to you other question. Besides Roughwear, Dubows have larger arm holes, yet still retain a sharp profile, forgiving in your normal size.
Comfortable jacket.

This is their russet HH, yes! Feels wonderful, and the grain is coming out in the arms nicely.

It's a nice starting point for figuring out what works! I definitely need the larger arm holes on a RW or Dubow, I might pick up a Fivestar to try out sizing.
I want to note, I'm not throwing any darts at Morten or AVI, I'm very happy with the quality and construction of my jacket!
