An unknown (Canadian) soldier shipped back to his homeland. Believe he was a member of Newfoundland regiment

Yes. This just happened recently. Newfoundland was not part of canada yet during both world wars. They were a separate dominion under Britain so entered the war before Canada did. They became a province of Canada in 1949.

This was an unknown soldier from the first ww they recently identified.
