Not a photo, but a random and very interesting and cool high quality film from 1964 on the preparedness of the Swiss Army to fight an unnamed enemy I stumbled upon on Youtube. Incredible scenes of military gear in action including some great Hawker Hunter footage. Apparently it was nominated for the 1965 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film!

Perfect photo to discuss “wartime fit”
Both of those jackets would be considered too large by many of us here . However, they fit big and they are still being worn over undershirts, and dress shirts. So what would they look like with just a T-Shirt ?
The trim look many of us like and consider as the perfect war time fit only looks trim because of the amount of heavy clothing worn under the jacket during cold weather.
Judging by the light clothing being worn by the ground crew the temperature was warmer and as a result this is what a “War Time” fit really looks like.
