My last A-2 (hopefully) - Good Wear

I was never into them, but you never know. I’m surprised how relatively inexpensive they are. I assume due to shear numbers of them.
Absolutely and they're bulletproof. Funny it was actually my love of the U.S.N jackets that got me into flight jackets in the first place years ago.

Saw those old photos of J.F.K amongst a few others and thought (still do) they were the coolest jackets I'd ever seen.

Yeah, I guess it was Tom cruise that put me off them ;)

I’ve never actually tried one on but they do look more practical than an A-2. Perhaps that’s why most mall jackets copied that style or b-10 , b-15 style
Big time, they're a 10 month of the year jacket up here in my corner of the world. With a light sweater through to late Spring and a heavy wool knit and scarf right into the depths of winter. That inner pocket can't be understated either. The U.S.N knew exactly what they were doing!

I recall someone telling me actually the U.S.N had a particularly talented design team back in the day and they didn't spare expenses either from what I understand.

Some of the old U.S.N goatskin is just otherworldly in how beautiful it is even today.

I remember in the 80’s and 90’s , everyone had those nylon “bombers” with the fur collar. Kinda b-15ish. Everyone from cops to ups drivers. Pretty much any company issued clothing included one. Even had one myself.

Quick story. Sorry. I had a really good avionics tech on my crew when I was a crew chief. He picked up one of those nylon b-15 ish jackets at a thrift store. Green, with the company name still on it “weed man”. (Lawn care company) . Well he was the other kind of weed man. King of the weed men I’d say. He wore the jacket at work all the time and that became his name almost immediately. Even the boss would call him weed man. Or just “weed “ for short. Supervisors asking me” we’re not getting anywhere on this snag, can you put the weed man on it?
That was his name for the 10 plus years I worked with him.
Sorry for getting off topic. Talking about the “bomber” jackets reminded me.
