would love to see a side by side comparison with a WWII US deck jacket .... looks almost identicalFrench "Marine Nationale" deck jacket, 1950'
Cheers, Dany, really do love this one. This was one of J.C’s regular wearers before he sold it to me and the cut is just beautiful!!CK, that's a super nice repro that looks absolutely original in all manners!

Nope you’re correct. This particular Mexican stuff J.C has, chrome tanned, aniline, thick, consistent scratch-like grain and soft, drapey but strong. It’s the most definite U.S.N leather I’ve come across and is identical to originals I’ve both seen and handled.Maybe it just me, but from the desktop and in that light that goat look 100% like an original USN jacket.
You are lucky to have this in your collection!
I’m on the main man’s list for an ANJ-3A and I’m thinking it’ll have to be the same goatskin again, it’s just magnificent!!
i wouldn't replace this collar--just right IMHO.View attachment 171103
I have one too! 44- fits like a 46L. My favorite G-1 type jacket by far. It has that orange collar which is so hard to reproduce.
Same thing, only better!would love to see a side by side comparison with a WWII US deck jacket .... looks almost identical
