What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

Pretty standard for this time of year here. Had the Irvin on to begin with and moved to the Barnstormer when the weather turned pear-shaped and it started with rain and sleet. Love these jackets.

Haven't been on here for a while, been too busy painting outside of our 17C house in SE Kent before Winter sets in. Having a rather lovely bit of Indian Summer now after quite a few bdays of rain, so out for shopping in my '40s Edwards and Edwards Pinto brand jacket with sunray back. 'er indoors was up in London so no-one to take photo, here's one from a few years back. Strange adornment of the breast pockets, zips are functional but don't give access to pockets, through button at top. I like the look of them though. Jacket is in nearly mint condition for its age, must have been stored for years before I came across it. I wonder if anyone here has come across one of these before ?

A brilliant fall day to be wearing this original United Sheeplined:

Things I like about originals that are hard to get with repros:

The active, thin-leathered epaulets are a signature of an original- hard to get in a repro (unless you beg and cajole)

The natural collar-tip down set of the collar. Hard to get in most repros because of stiff leather and possibly some lost sewing trick. The Big Guy's collars can be trained but it's work.

You can see in this photo a sewing trick that most originals had but only one guy uses now...

That distinctive United Sheeplined leather- not the most beautiful compared to a RW or Dubow- it's a dirty brown with a slightly greyish hint- but that beautiful natural gaining!
