They’re a cool design. I don’t see myself reaching for it that often, but it adds nice variety to the collection.

Here's an example of an original Burt. I found it at a local militaria show over the summer. Regrettably I didn't purchase it since it wasn't my size.

Couple of helpful tips.

You need to go one size larger than your suit/blazer jacket size. Irvins look silly if they're fitted, that's not the nature of the design either. If you're going to use it for reenacting so over SD or BD and you're a solid chap you might even have to go 2 sizes larger than that.

If you're over 5'10'' you should go for a LONG sizing so an extra inch in the sleeves and body, if you're over 6' you need an EXTRA LONG sizing which is an extra inch and a half in the sleeves and body.
