Its an new old stock US army cap from 1952, got it on fleabay a while back

Looks like the later issue HBT fatigue cap with the longer brim -- but I await confirmation.

Like to get one myself. The short bill is historically correct for WW2, but my dad was issued one of these late ones in 1953 and I always wanted to replace it (his disintegrated sometime in the 60s ).

Your right Steve, its from 1952, I had one that was given to me as a kid from a guy returning from Vietnam, wore it till it fell apart. Found this one on fleabay a few years back in unissued condition. I might have a few more in the collection packed away, what size head are you? Heres a photo of the tag and hat.

You're right I should, it's a bit tight in the lower arms so only really works with a t-shirt, but summer is almost here so it's the right season.

Thanks, I tried a Large and it didn't fit me as well as yours does. Do you find the wool lining scratchy?

I'm the same way -- to me the feel of wool says warm. It's almost comforting.

Perfect way to put it. I notice the scratchiness a bit when I put it on, and then I just stop noticing it and the jacket just feels warm.
