ive found that painted acrylic artwork, and patches hardly age at all, where as work done with enamels begin to age as originals do. that is to say,, the enamel begins to lose its shine and developed hairline fissures, while taking on surface discoloration due to rain, dirt, wear, etc. also, to my eyes enamel paint seems to have more depth and richness than acrylic paint.

let me add, vera's work is outstanding, by any measure. if shipping back and forth, cost a couple arms and a leg, and vera would use enamels, I would want a "king of the heavies" on one of my repros, same as the on my bk that is for sale.......

Agree Vic. There's nothing like good old enamels painted by an artist who knows how to use them.

Tribute jacket to DOUGLAS C. VAN WEELDEN CREW - 359th BS - 303rd BG.
B-17 "Pistol Packin' Mama", shot down on 30 May 44 mission #165 to Halberstadt, Germany. 4 KIA.
This plane hadn't any nose art but its name. I've been asked to think about a pinup, from the right era to decorate jackets. I finally use George Petty pinup made for an advert in May 1939, but modified it in order to add revolvers in hand and on hips.
I use the similar writing style for the name, add a 8th AF roundel on sleeve and the jacket is nearly finished: 8 mission bombs added on front.
