We have a saying here in the UK, ‘where there’s muck there’s brass’ and that epitomises it exactly but reckon you’ve got gold with that new B3 from the artisan that is JC!
JW - it almost makes up for the flea-infested oriental rug that I brought home to my apartment in college. My housemates were ready to strangle me for that one.

Congrats on the Aero B-3. I had a bit of a similar experience a few years back when I posted my new acquisition, an Aero 42-5110-P. I wanted to know what to do with it as I was hoping to make it into a wearable jacket. It's only real flaw being a three inch rip in one shoulder. Much to my surprise JC pm'ed me and advised me it was not going to be a wearer and to buy a repro. You said he has reproduced a 1939 Aero, and now has reproduced your 1941. Mine is 1942, then there is also the final contract I suppose the 42-22899-P. I guess he was not interested in the 42-5110-P although I notice they are both the same size 38-R. The 1941 contract is probably rarer, especially mixed batch. Is that all the Aero B-3 contracts of WW2? Four of them? Well 1939 not technically WW2 for US jackets. Yes, I guess I'm a little envious that JC didn't want to obtain my jacket for a copyable template. Hey, it's still sitting in a sealed box in my closet. Only good for display as all these are no matter how good a condition they seem to be. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so I might only get a few days a year of wear out of one, also seems a bit much to wear something like that here, but still I do think it would be cool to have a repro to put beside the original I have. Not on the priority list. Once again, congrats and great repro!

Thanks SFA, sorry things didn't work out with your repro - but glad you hung on to that original. I hear ya, I probably have even less occasion to wear a B-3 here in sunny CA, but then again I never did let practicality get in the way of doing something (just ask my wife, ha). I do ride a bit, and I have a 44 Willys MB that's fun to drive in the cold, and we get to the snow and/or high desert once or twice per year - so I think she'll get some wear.

Would love to see some photos of your Willy’s MB when you have time .
