Long overdue as I haven't done a Dude of the Day since last year (smack on the wrist for that), so without further ado...
Dude of the Day...
1Lt Robert "Red" Patterson from LA, CA. Red flew with 335 Sqn until he got in a massive scrap with 30+ Jerry fighters close to Assen in Germany. Hardly surprisingly Red got shot down but amazingly evaded capture for 2 months until the Germans bagged him and he spent the rest of the war as a POW.
He passed away in 2004.
