Hello James, The patch was made for the relative via his seeing another I had done some time ago , also for a vet's relative, the patch itself was made from an image of the actual WW2 era emblem which was I believe originally done by the people at Disney studios during WW2 , I made the patch on genuine Leather , hand cut , hand tooled(design impressed into the leather)Then hand painted by me, I use a "sized" paper copy for the impression part of the patch making process . Here's an "example" image of another patch I did for an AAF vet's relative so you can see the process and the finished item, if you have any other questions feel free to contact me again , thanks for your inquirywas it a custom-made commemorative piece? Do you have any photos or more details on its materials and craftsmanship?
Thanks for the compliment on my patch work, been doing them on/off over 30 years now , mostly to veteran's and or their relatives, a few reenactors and a few museums, and all over the US and some overseas places, I've done some non military things like some airlines a band type , but again mostly military aviation, if you have something in mind let me know and we'll talk about it in the meantime here's a few images of the "Non" military things I've done .........t’s incredible how you’re preserving history through your work. Do you primarily work with military patches, or have you done other historical recreations as well?
