So would that smock in the photo be the 1st Version Smock or the 2nd Version ?
Burt I can't see the cuffs the 1st pattern had knits the second button adjustors, I enlarged it but couldn't see, nice smock the Denison though, the Belgies also copied the pattern for their army

Another question .., who makes the most accurate repro of the British Denison Paratrooper Smock?
King and country used to make a good one but they closed up a while back, Barry Lyndon and Hong Kong Keith have made some terrible ones haha I owned 2 original once a wartime 2nd pattern and a very rare 46 pattern denison

I saw a earlier cheap Belgian one the other day Burt, they're not bad for just knocking around in, I should grab one someday, even for taking the dogs in the woods over winter :) they're 1950's

EBay ?
Yep and online European and UK militaria sites, I just checked though prices going up, the rarer is called moon and balls pattern from 53 lot like wartime, then cheaper brush stroke pattern, I never realised they're so collectible now, from early Congo period

Well, there is no short answer to that question. Some kind of consensus can be found on the dedicated FB pages like https://www.facebook.com/groups/146583445964612
The names that I would put forward are: Steve Kiddle (he converted my Belgian tankers helmet into a WWII jumpable lid) http://www.pegasusmilitaria.com/about/
and Frank Brown https://www.linkedin.com/in/frank-brown-5bb42495/?originalSubdomain=uk
Both are highly rated and have waiting lists.
p.s. the Belgian smock is quite different. I jumped with a converted Belgian smock (Windak configuration) on DZ K in Normandy in 2019.

Edited to add:
Here a video (
) comparing Steve's smock and a more affordable one by shoot and scoot (https://shootandscoot.co.uk/products/denison-smock)

I have a pristine King & Country smock with original wings and SGT chevron on the one sleeve... It is REALLY good.

Harlan Glenn did not muck around.
