...and the other "Our Gal Sal" in the 8th, a B-24H with the 701st BS. Hit by flak on the 11 August 1944, made a forced landing. All the crew survived, 1 was able to evade, the rest were POW.

They grounded him as he kept on denting the roof of the pilot compartment of the B-17 he was on. He also pissed the gunners off as he was hopelessly slow at calling anything in at his 12 o'clock
