You’re too kind. How about a date;)
You pick me up in the Mustang, I'm yours.

On a side note, that’s my first Eastman a-2. House model and the nicest Eastman I’ve ever had. Idiot for selling it. Circa 2007
Yeah that was a keeper PA... would you not consider a new Eastman house model in tribute? Frankly though, nothing in this world is beating your Good Wears .

Well,we’re SOL on the mustang. I’ve got the tranny out and waiting on a third gear from California. Probably a week plus.
As for the jacket, I’ve managed to get into gw’s so it’s kind of a moot point now. And to get an Elc over here now is hundreds more than a gw. Exchange, duty, tax, shipping. But when I was buying Elc, that first one was definitely the best of the bunch.

Nice, take good care of that beauty!

Absolutely, being on your side of the Atlantic, doesn't require much thought which of the two to go with. I'm on the other side of the Atlantic and Still GW is my port of call - the one thing I'll happily pay fees and duties for is a Good Wear work of art.

On that note - whats your next jacket you have planned?

Not “planning “any right now. But in the back of my mind I’m always thinking of a nice b-10. I have a Bronson but love a more accurate one. But it’s a ton of cash for a cloth jacket. Hard for me to come to grips with that thought.

I hear you, One cracking B-10 in the collection would be a nice touch though. It is but then the B-10 packs a punch in terms of all round utility come the colder months. I say get a deposit placed when possible, gives you plenty of time!

I went a little crazy PA, I have three orders in with J.C for next year. My justification is they were all long time coming. A B-6, a RW A-2 and an AN-J-3A. Definitely taking a break for a good while after that though.

Wow. Must be excited. Good choices . Even though John is the best , I think rw is his real specialty. I know it’s hard to wait but try to enjoy the anticipation. That’s a big part of it with us humans.

Thanks man and agreed, I have a 27752 planned and have a feeling it'll be the crowning jewel in the collection. Wise words, that's exactly what I'm trying to do, just patiently waiting in anticipation, waiting for that email, waiting for that index/album of photos once it's made!

Oh, I get it now! I am old too, I totally forgot transmission term- more the artsy fartsy guy! I was into rag tops- wire rim I had several Austin Healey 3000 Mk III and a Sprite. Also, I did a ground up restore on a Nissan Roadster 2000 cc. Had a mechanic design a dual fuel injection for it, 3 coats of Gold Pearl with Bronze clear coat. The seats and door panels were light tan suede leather and I make the console out of Mahogany...carved it and lacquered it. It had gold plated Wire rims new tops. Took two years and the very week I finished it and took it for a show off with my date, it was stolen. Police found it in Houston in an alley stripped down to the frame. I never restored cars or motorcycles after that one.

That sucks. There’s something going on up here right now, saw it on the news last night. Dozens of people are having their expensive classic cars confiscated by the police. Turns out the dealer was selling stolen classics. 40000 to 100000 dollar cars confiscated with zero compensation.

PA, just out of interest, why don’t you ride anymore?

A combination of things I guess. Kind of lost interest and found I was rarely taking the bike out. Also, there are so many idiots out there now it seemed like every time I went out someone almost ran into me. When Covid hit, the aviation industry was all but wiped out so I decided to retire a bit early. I sold the bike and some other toys to help out with the early retirement. I don’t miss it ……….often ;)

Can’t argue with any of that and I hear you on the risk of riding these days… I’d love a Triumph at some point but it’s todays world that makes me hesitate and the drivers/general mentality out there.

May have sold the bike and a few other bits but man, your garage is still looking awesome!

It was time to prioritize. Everything I have, and had, I restored myself. But they still need maintenance and it was taking up too much of my time. Not to mention I was out of space. So I picked my two favourites, which were my first 2 projects, mustang and Land Rover, and sold the rest. Really don’t miss them. For me, there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing. That’s why I only have 3 jackets. I’m not good at spreading my loyalties I guess ;)

Always enjoy your experience and wisdom PA, talking to guys like you is why I love this forum.

So do you reckon between the Defender (it is a defender?) and the Mustang that’s you for life?

Couldn’t agree more on the good thing front, I’m the same, exactly the same. Takes the shine and that special feeling out when you have too much of a good thing for me.

That said - I think you have a few more Good Wears left in you. Actually, you would look epic in a Navy jacket… surely you’re tempted by a G-1 of some sort?
