If anyones interested here are some detailed shots of the 1917s I jsut got from Dejan. I ordered them on Monday and they came this AM.

Never fails to amaze me how quick, and relatively inexpensively, he can ship jeans out to people.

Cool looking pair of jeans! Got an over all shot, front and back? What's the waist actually measure?

After wearing my Full Counts for a month I'm back into my '44 501s for this week. Damn I love how they fit! Need to get me another pair!

~Swing

I'll get some over-all shots of both the back and the front. The waist is 39. These are just incredible and I like these better than my 1927s.

I've fancied a pair ofthese for a while now, if you would post some fit shots or measurements or even a comparison with 33's that'd be smashing. ;)

Dejan has shots of them being worn on his site. There are loose and higher waisted that the 33s I have and fit allot like the 1901s. The denim is really nice and much different than cone denim. The denim is supplied by Kurabo for these 1917 and is really dark...

Here the 1917s are worn.

I'm really glad I ordered these. These are really nice and don't look like they'll be offered in F/W 09 because of the 1915s...

Allen,
Nice looking denim.
Avoid the urge to soak/wash them at all costs! That fine Japanese denim will reward you handsomely in the end.

Thanks Grant...
These babies won't see water for at least 6 months. I've already warned the Mrs if she touches these "bang zoom to the moon".....

Haha! I'm sure your wife is very understanding.
I've been rocking the '36 Lee's for going on four months now and they're looking awesome ... can't say the same for the smell.

Grant thats what I'm talking about if they get to nasty she'll just throw'm in the wash. She's done that with several of my raws.

The Filson suspenders are nice but it's still pretty easy to still find vintage suspenders from the 20's - 50's in second hand clothing shops. If you can get a pair of vintage Police Brand suspenders they're cool too. I wear my Filson's with 1901 and '33 501's as well as vintage dress pants.

Great looking jeans airfrog, they have tons of character built in to the design, just imagine once they start to age! I'm getting those and the '27s next. Were the length of the 1917s true to label or longer/shorter. I was planning on getting the 1917s in a 34x34 but it doesn't look like that size is even available (atleast through Cult), but no matter the 33x34 will probably do just fine since they apparently run a little big in the waist, hope the lengths don't run short though. BTW, can we be sure that this denim shrinks pretty much the same as US "XX" 501s ? I don't want to make another mistake like with the 1920 201's that don't hardly shrink at all.

OH CRAPP!!! I'm starting to fall for that Menlo jacket and it's expensive.

Doug I actually like the 1917 better than the 27s and they are an inch larger in the waist than the tagged size and an inch longer. I would e-mail Dejan if you are really interested because he does have things that aren't on the website.

Thanks

They are scanned mainly from western horsemen magazines from the 40s thru to 51

if you save them it will give you the year

I thought.. "hmm, bold move posting those Lee adds in a Levis thread!", then I kept scrolling down and realized it wasn't such a poke after all. Very nice!
