G-1 PX Purchase Jackets: Are They Military or Civilian?

Probably just not as desirable for the jacket collecting community. Although worthy of wearing. Side note where are all these posters now thirteen years later? I don't recognize any of them except for B-man2 still posting.
We''re still around lurking. The FEC thing''s been kicked to death around here. If you have an FEC from the early thru mid 50s you have an exact copy of a Star 55J14- a beautiful G-1 better than any repro and many later originals:

If you have an FEC from the late 50s you have a Star 55J14 made with thicker goatskin, darker mouton, and that weird brown-painted Talon- still a Star 55J14 but with more deviation in materials because Star wasn''t actually making contract jackets at this time:

If you have an FEC from the 60s you have an exact copy of a Star 7823 B/C/D- again a quality G-1 but now made with the ugly standardized g-1 pattern- the later in the decade the uglier the jacket as we start to see Dynel collars etc:

The earliest FECs are the coolest- they are literally Star 55J14s made during the same production run as the contract jackets- same buttery goatskin, same beautiful mouton, same knits. That Star 55J14 pattern is one of the handsomest G-1 designs around IMO- the quintessential G-1.

The later 50s FECs start to show some deviation in materials and pattern but they are still qualty jackets and still better than any modern repro IMO.

The last FECs like the last contract G-1s are ugly. Same quality sewing etc. but now with the ugly nylon lining, the ugly Dynel collar and the ugly standardized pattern.
