Glad you mentioned that too! I absolutely love The Cold Blue. It was shot in COLOR film and some of it even looks like it was shot yesterday, don’t you think?. It’s really something to see, among other things, those different color A-2 jackets in their native habitat (mostly russet). Even though it was shot in 16mm, for jacket enthusiasts this is priceless documentation. William Wyler was an absolute master and a fearless one at that. He risked his own life going on multiple missions to film it all. If fact, out of his 3 cinematographers, one was killed when his ship was shot down over St Nazaire (It was reported that he slipped out of his chute). This was real stuff and it’s rather eerie watching, in part, the work of someone who died creating it. If anyone is interested, you can see it for free on YouTube. You just have to ignore the Indonesian subtitles. Thanks for mentioning it!
