They arrived today , I must say that they exceeded my expectations . The leather is nice and sweet and get nice folds imeediately , everything is screaming top quality. I really did not expect to find such boots at 10% of their price . These ELC Raider boots are awsome , defintively . Thank you ami Almost 10% 160€ instead of 1140€ ( without postage and taxes ) . The guy said to me that he wanted to sell them as quickly as possible and that the style did not correspond anymore to what he is actually in for. Don't know what it really means to buy such expensives boots to sell at that ridiculous price , anyway .. . my feet and I are happy ( and my wallet too ) . Ah !! if someone wants to get some the size is LARGE !! I've some 10.5 , 10 , even 11 in D , E or EE . these in comparison are more 11 EEE than 10.5 E indicated . That's not a problem , I like to have insoles in my boots .

Discovering a pair of Grant Stones in Crimson Chromexcel goes quite well with Officer Pinks.

I wanted to order Wolverine 1000 miles because I like the shape, but doesn't seems to be represented here. Bad choice ?

I also like the Viberg Service boots or Alden Indy.

But I should have new boots soon. :p

This guy is possibly the most authoritative person on tye internet when it comes to boots. Can’t recall what he thought of the Wolverines, but I dimly recall he was lukewarm on them:

I DO remember that he thought Alden Indys were way overpriced. Vibergs though - I’ve never heard anyone say a bad thing about them.

Thanks, @Saint-ex - I like them a lot, and I'm glad I have them, but if you're new to old school boots (you may not be, so apologies if you've already been there and done that), there are others I'd rank higher than Grant Stone.
Haha, no worries! I'm always learning, even about things I think I know.
To be honest I know about dress shoes but never owned old school boots.
Just tried Worlverine 1000 miles and Redwings Beckman today. Wolverine's were definitely more confortable at first try.
I tend to wear sleeker, dressier boots. I was hoping for something a bit more casual to wear with my wider jeans.

Both good choices, Saint-ex.

I can support both Viberg and Alden, the choice is yours. Personally I feel both are worth the money totally, and either will fit in nicely to that more casual outfit.

Here is an addition of a very important part of the boots : the soles and heels . I've been searching a long way to find all these I present you . Myb little stock , I think I will be dead before I use all of them . I would like not !!! The last ones are the last aquisition from an ETSY vendor from HK , very friendly and intersting and full of surprises . These soles are not listed on his online shop (The last half soles are stright out of the mold , that's the 1st time I see that ! I love it ! ) Like some Zipers he presented me . Some pics will follow . I allow myself to present you what he showed me , without knowing the price nore if he is open to sell some to other people . I asked him if , some friends of mine could get in touch with him and the range of prices . I'll tell you , if you are interested .

UPDATE about ZIPPERS

From the ETSY seller :
"Yes, the zippers are available. I don't have them in stock but they all can be ordered.

Sure, please talk to your friends about the zippers. Which one particularlly are you looking at? Can you send me the photo?

The closed-end styles I have are available either in 15cm or 20cm or 30cm and separating styles are available either in 50 cm or 60cm or 70cm. Please let me know which one you and I will let you know what size, length and color it is available in.

Prices for Talon and Ideal #3 & #5 Closed End zippers range from €8 - €12 approximately. #8 and #10 Talon and Ideal #8- #10 range from €13-€19.

Waldes and YKK are more expensive and price greatly varies with the slider model.

Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know about the zippers.

Thanks! "
