I just looked at the size on these. They are size 12 XN . That means “Xtra Narrow“
If you have a normal D width foot they will not fit you very well and will be rather narrow and hurt your feet .
Fuck yes !!! I did not notice that . Mine are 10.5 N , I usually wear 10 E . With some grease and shoe stretchers it can be ok . Anyway , there are a lot of M48 to sell . Some in great condition and good sized for Thomas . you're right Burt

What do you mean by "GS combat boots ? These were used in the Korean War. These ones are still jump boots , you can see that the heels are beveled but just on the corners . Russet was the early dye , then small time after it turned to black , all the boots in russet had to be dyes black and new issues were builted black. The Corcoran has they were with entire 45° beveled heels went black and used as parad boots.( code 1500 )
Here are links I found to illustrate : the Rose Anvil video shows a M48 , not a WW2 era jump boots it is exactyely the same model I own . Life time construction quality ;) ( still wear some 84 years old , just resoled ! )

:D I always get re educate from good sir at this forum.

These boots are perfect , to me . With my ELC Pearl harbor and M51 field pants from Bronson : ready to GO BANG BANG with soldiers

Braining and discussing about "boots - shoes ..." i have a rather funny story:

by accident i stumbled upon a homepage organising all kind of auctions like insolvencies or so

There was an interesting lot of "riding boots" and i saw there must be at least 1 pair in european size 45/46 which suits me so i placed a bid of about 20.- bucks

On the auction photos where 3 blue trashbags full of boots

Well my bid was the highest - got there (German TV-Station not insolvent but culled their stock of props) and asked for my "3 sack o' boots" - at the end it worked out it was 8 sack with about 50/60 pair in different stages of wear and condition - thankfully i had my pickup-truck with me otherwise all the stuff would not have fit into my commuter ...

Since some of the boots where in very bad condition and just cheap rubber-stuff i threw 'em away

Now i'm on to sell the better ones pair by pair - "return of invest" so far 8 times the price i payed for them (keep in mind i payed 20.- bucks only) ... - so if someone of you needs a pair just get in touch ... :)

6 of the 8 "sack o' boots"

part of the "inventory" when 3 sacks still haven't got unpacked ...

They look great and the price beats all the other repros out there by miles .
Absolutely Burt. I just wish that I could find another pair like my lighter colored, true roughout version. The corded soles still look 95% after two years of wear, 2-3 days a week, but I'd love an extra pair as insurance.

I've owned the orange cotton lined boots in the photo for around 2.5 years, but have probably only worn them less than 20 times.

I need to find me a pair of these. They're good looking.

This pair is a tad too big for me, but are these correct? Seems like a smoking good price if true..

Yes, those are the same boots as shown in my photo. I believe that mine are "brown" while those are "snuff". There are a few different colorways and leather finishes in this particular version, including a green suede, black and brown leather. They will have an orange cloth lining as you can see in the eBay listing.

The version that I prefer are not lined (just the natural smooth side of the leather) and appear to be a true roughout and not just a sueded leather. They are much harder to find. I've been trying to locate another pair of 10.5D's for the better part of two years. Notice this version does not have pull tabs, so they are easy to distinguish. IMO, they are a bit closer in quality to the RRL roughouts than the version with the orange liner. Here are mine...
