Picked up these from A Fine Pair of Shoes. Very different from what I normally wear and not entirely sure I like them.

Awesome And for once they do not need to be resoled !
Yes ! I bough this pair with that in mind : not resoling ! I had the same experience with another M48 pair but too large 11.5 EE . This time it's good . btw , my Type2 are just back from my cobbler . Sent to him to get new heels on , the last ones were to thin ( 1cm ) the new ones are more accurate ( 2cm) and made with a vintage mold ( made in Canada ) , from etsy where I found the cats paw heels and the Biltrite that were used on these type2

No pbs to ask ;) . From Ebay US . I never stop searching ... on the entire web . This afternoon I found a very early pair of jump boots mint from a French web site specialized in WW2 gears and other stuff , especialy Jeep willys parts . . This kind of passion is a real pain for my wallet but a pleasure for my feet and ... ego !!! ahahaha Got no pics . The item were puted off the site when the trannsaction were done , and , what a dumb I am , I did not save any pics to my pc . There is also a nice A2 for example : I don't know the real price of this kind of item , I'm in the boots ! so let's have a look ;) https://militariajeep35.fr/produit/blouson-m41-officier-7/ . PS : The price of the jump boots is quite gentle .To be honest I had the M48 for 170$ + 30$ shipping + 17$ import taxe : happy ! about the WW2 era jump boots , very rare : 550€

Nice score! But M48 is GS combat boots, it’s heels different from Cocoran’s.
What do you mean by "GS combat boots ? These were used in the Korean War. These ones are still jump boots , you can see that the heels are beveled but just on the corners . Russet was the early dye , then small time after it turned to black , all the boots in russet had to be dyes black and new issues were builted black. The Corcoran has they were with entire 45° beveled heels went black and used as parad boots.( code 1500 )
Here are links I found to illustrate : the Rose Anvil video shows a M48 , not a WW2 era jump boots it is exactyely the same model I own . Life time construction quality ;) ( still wear some 84 years old , just resoled ! )

They are in outstanding condition!

Congratulations for the find!

11.5 would be my size ... - original boots in decent condition are hard to find ... - no wonder meanwhile they are 80 yrs old

Bonjour Thomas ! Always a pleasure to read from you . I think I found something that could be under your christhmass tree ... If you wear a 11.5 then these 12 are good for you . I see these boots for some times now , they just wait for the guy who really want them . ( I see that the pair is already in 4 eBay bags ! ) Mint !!! They really worth the price , when you see modern "vintage" heritage boots sold at more than 500$ , these , for less than 300$ ( 249$ + 42$ postage + ... 20 or 30$ import taxes ) are great deals ;)

Thomas and LV
I just looked at the size on these. They are size 12 XN . That means “Xtra Narrow“
If you have a normal D width foot they will not fit you very well and will be rather narrow and hurt your feet .
