All of these boots fit me great and are comfortable. Currently I wear Flat heads the most(my favorite) followed by the Whites(very close 2nd) then the Alden Indys( super comfortable), Grant Stones and Alden tanker. I have a new pair of the latest MTO Bordon Tukano V2 on the way.Nice collection! How do you rank them from favorite to least favorite?

Any thoughts on the Colchester rubber co. shoes?
Was looking to find some modestly priced Repro 'Coral shoes' if you might have any recommendations?

I'm honestly not familiar with the Colchesters at all, but I do like their appearance. I just picked up the 70 series Chuck Taylors as there's a Converse outlet store local to me and I saw these on the rack. I used to wear CT's quite often, but the footbed of the shoes weren't overly forgiving on the soles of my aging feet, so I stopped. The 70 series have upgraded insoles which I replaced with a set of anti-fatigue Timberland work boot insoles that I had on hand, so they're extremely comfortable.

The Chucks left my puppies barking after pounding the pavement. Stuck with them long enough and needed to try something different. Great look of course! A white pair looks totally classic.
Tried all kinds of different insoles, could never get a set to lay right, always wound up with slippage.
Colchester shoes seem to have pretty good cushion. Took me awhile to pick up a used pair to try. Was really happy with the quality. Slightly lower profile, somewhat narrower than Chucks. Go half size up if possible, for toe space if you happen to find.
Wanted to try some PF flyers just for something different as well. Great retro look of those too...Still trying to get a pair of those in turquoise.

US made Chippewa Ellison 20065 in chokolade apache color, probably the most comfortable boots I've ever owned in this vintage format. This pair is 2 years old, it's a shame they don't make them anymore.
I hear that they made some rtw for George cleverly - I never got on with them on the couple have tried. If you ever need them resoled - kokos do a lot of the work for cleverly & c&j. Have you seen church’s prices since Prada bought them!
How long does it take to put those bad boys on?

I ended up getting speed hooks on a pair of Cheaney boots - because i never wore them. Still don’t! In fact for everyday use I ended up with trickers Henry (dealer) boots mostly, because they are easy to put on. Probably just getting fat and lazy in my old age!

I don't wear Military boots like this anymore...Maybe just once or twice, mucking around in the mud.
These are MK IV boots. I bought a well-used pair of them in 1999. They lasted 20 years. That's like a dollar a year for a pair.
I once tried the newer 'Wet-weather' more modern versions of these. They have different Tread that makes them look like Frankenstein boots, and you needed special 'boot paste' that is no longer available to maintain them. The sole completely split apart on a brand new pair of $90 modern boots after only 2 weeks. The Store owner let me pick out another pair to replace them, which was very nice. Then, as soon as the weather turned cold, I slipped and fell flat on my bottom walking through the parking lot one night. I felt like tossing them over a telephone pole, and went back to the MK IV's.
They've never let me down, and taught me, that modern ways are not always more reliable than the old ways.

I wore my uncle's '50s combat boots (nearly identical to Corcorans) all thru high school -- once they're broken in you can lace pretty fast.

I've got a pair of Chippewa service boots in roughout. Love them very much. I'd advice steering clear from the current offerings as they are made in China and the quality has dropped significantly.US made Chippewa Ellison 20065 in chokolade apache color, probably the most comfortable boots I've ever owned in this vintage format. This pair is 2 years old, it's a shame they don't make them anymore.

Sadly. I'd recommend the Thursday President in Mocha roughout, or their Hero boots if you're looking for quality roughout service style boots. Bloody awesome boots for not too much $$
