... and personally, I find that the "drape" makes a huge difference in terms of the feeling of the jacket.

I really love my BK jacket, but frankly the difference in drape is obvious compared to the original photos.

Personally I’m happy to have both. BK and the other veg-tanned makers’ jackets drape more like the originals do today, while what I’m seeing of these new photos drapes a bit more like the originals did when they were new.

Would it be fair to start considering FiveStar jackets to be mentioned in the same conversation as BK, AERO, ELC et al., ? Especially when the original contract repros start to have period correct Crown and Conmar zips available? The talon only option, in my opinion, is the only thing I would say is holding FiveStar back.

Just one thing what about the thickness of the leather compared to the ELC? The hide look fantastic and if you did not notice the 5star tag they look similar very close from the pictures!

The leather is approx same thickness of original ELC contracts I have, but one thing certain the 5 Stars leather is far softer, which give him a very nice looking when worn.

There were some earlier on who described the hide as "stretchy." I did a test of that on the samples I got, but it's hard to gauge on just a sample. Not asking you to try stretching your jacket, but does it seem noticeably more elastic than your Eastman?

Sure, it's not the usual thin cheap leather: it's true horsehide of a good quality, the very difference is the softer feeling which indicates a very good ability to have a nice worn-in aspect.

The jacket is not so stretchy...a true pity actually cause my measurments were on the lower scale, so the jacket is a little too small for me: i can wear it but not very confortable, my mistake. The second one in mid brown HH will give me more room. Fortunately Shawn send me the first jacket to check sizes before doing the second.
