Precisely… made out of wwii Irvin trousers..Did someone here not start making jackets at the same time?.sèms like a lifetime past.think the guy was an "authority " on A2s.
That's the guy,he was a wealth of knowledge about A2s,I tried to buy an eastman off him but as usual I dithered and it was sold. That guy was Andrew Swatland (Roughwear) and yes there wasn’t much he didn’t know about A2’s and Irvin’s. I bought two original A2’s of Andrew who lives relatively near me and always used to see him at airshows dressed in full USAAF gear, much of it original stuff too. He had at one time an original of every WWII maker plus several high end repros. I entrusted him to replace the cuff knits on an old ELC house A2 and he did a great job. He is a real history buff and into re-enacting inc civi WWII suits etc. His house was flight jacket heaven! Never really knew what went wrong here but always a nice guy to deal with although I lost contact when my FB profile went awol for reasons I’ve never got to grips with!!
Maybe time to catch up with him!!!
“Made from descendants of the sheep that were used to make original Irvin’s”Drat, too busy today so missed that one.
Shame he stopped making them. Those that witnessed the shenanigans back in the day won't forget.
“Made from descendants of the sheep that were used to make original Irvin’s”
That one always gave me a WTF laugh!!
Or how about the part where they would only be sold to a select few … and they had to be scrutinized first . Another WTF moment .
Agree totally …. But in the end , all the buffoonery did its job and caused a reputable Irvin maker to throw it all in and leave the forum.Nudge nudge, wink wink, oooo-er, funny handshake and all!
Was that the guy from France,he seemed a lovely guy.Agree totally …. But in the end , all the buffoonery did its job and caused a reputable Irvin maker to throw it all in and leave the forum.
That was shameful…
