As others have said my vote is for kay canvas
I have had Buzz rickson , bronson and the SOF [kay canvas] chinos and the SOF are my favourites.

BR and SOF cut the same as the originals, bronson slightly less baggy.
BR and bronson metal buttons.
Bronson legs are not very long if you taller.
SOF good customer service and they deduct the VAT on overseas orders.

I also have these by bronson and they are great if you like the style 11 oz cotton

I usually only wear jeans with a vintage jacket- Levis or a good Japanese 501 copy. Khakis and military pants are way too dress up for me- I feel foolish trying to look like a WW2 guy or Steve Mcqueen in "Great Escape". When I was young I used to do it all the time but even then I felt a little weird- ESPECIALLY if someone said "Hey you look like a pilot!..." which happened a couple of times. Now I dress up like a 135 lb. 25 year old Japanese guy- jeans, vintage jacket, T-shirt and funny sneakers...

I'm glad that this popped up. I want to get a pair of ww2 USN dungarees, as they were called. I was casting about and looked at Bronson or one of those cats. I nearly shat on my uppers (to use a phrase from Dash Hammett) when I saw the price. £380 (give or take a quid) or $330. Who the hell do they think is going to spend that?

There are nearly as many manufacturers of WW2 repro uniforms and gear as there were actual, disparate, manufacturers during the war. No two companies produced the same, identical thing then or now. Thus, I don't need to buy an overpriced knock-off.
At the Front, and WW2 Impressions also make the dungarees. Each is currently out of stock on 34 waist. So, I can wait. Or do without. I don't wear jeans much anymore in any case. I prefer khakis/chinos in the spring and summer, and cords for winter and fall.
Not to mention the fact that my wife has forbidden my using the mastercard. But that''s a story for another time.
Cheers (almost)
John
