    kids' size flight jackets

Hmm. Those LW jackets are a real bargain... A big white Felix on the back of one of those black jackets would be pretty sharp. No. 1 Daughter is going to be 9 - wonder if a 28 would fit? I did a rocker jacket for her when she was much smaller - lots of studs, patches and a big painting on the...

    kids' size flight jackets

CBI: That is absolutely brilliant. My daughter's jacket probably won't, I'm afraid, be quite up to that standard...! I'm going to buy a jacket that will be a bit big, so she'll get a couple of years out of it (there's a younger, equally stylish sister waiting in the wings in any case). The US...

    kids' size flight jackets

I want to paint up/decorate a jacket for my daughter's birthday, and I'm wondering if anyone out there makes decent replica jackets in kids' sizes. I'm thinking A2 with Fifinella, though she's quite taken with Felix the Cat a la VF-3 - I somehow don't think she'll care about a Navy design on an...

    vintage or not?

I'd say 70s - looks like a Canadian jacket but the zips are wrong, so Bates or something like that? Pocket detailing looks 70s rather than 60s. And I think the big 'Made in USA' labels came along in the early 80s. Very nice jacket, for all that.

Real thousand-yard stare on the chap in the first pictures - you can only imagine what he must have been through.

    A Bit of 'Armless Fun...

It's not impossible that a returning vet thought his jacket would be more useful for splitting firewood, riding Flathead bobber, etc, without the sleeves. I wonder if there are any pics of field-modified jackets in the war? You used to see quite a few sleeveless, genuine Irvins around here...

    A Bit of 'Armless Fun...

I came across this yesterday: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 3468wt_907 It's a wartime M-445A converted into a vest/waistcoat, obviously some time ago. I have to confess I love these armless jackets. I have one of those post-war Irvins with the vinyl tape, no arms, and it's one...

    Idle members..

This probably includes me, so I promise I'll post more when I'm not working 24/7 and as poor as a church mouse... When my ship comes in (HA!) I'll be looking for an A2, a redskin B-6, a 30s style biker jacket, a...

    new Aero going mega cheap!

Blazer might be an Aero for Sam Walker - 'Transatlantic' rings a bell. They were quite decent if I remember: probably the only leather blazer I've ever tried on (didn't buy it, though...).
