Thanks, I'm new to this; what do you mean by posts? I have to write in the forums?

As long as it's Roughwear russet from Goodwear.... that's fine

Yep, you have to write on the forum, and you have to have been here 90 days. the fedora lounge doesn't have those requirements though.
Bonjour Dominique, as tu vu le M422 civil sur Vinted. Tu en cherchais un, je crois.

Hi there,

Was wondering what you did exactly by "hemming the sleeves" of your AVI

Thanks

I meant shortening. Don’t have particularly long arms and the stock sleeves were very long on me so I took them to a tailor who removed the cuff, shortened the sleeves and put the cuffs back. Looked same as new.
If your thinking of thinning your sizeable herd in the near future I'm looking for another original A-2 in size 42. After more than fifty years of wear and tear its come time to put my ole Doniger goat out to pasture.
I'm not a collector so I'm just looking for a wearable jacket for a respectable replacement.
Thanks Doug

I caught your thread about downsizing and after more than fifty years of wear and tear on my original Doniger its come time to hang er up. So I'm looking to buy another original A-2 in size 42 that's still wearable if you have one you may be willing to pass on in the near future.
Thanks Doug

I've learned through trial and error and a lot of expense that any original contract A-2's in size 40 are to small and 44 to big but any size 42 always fits me just right. haha
And I have an original Dubow AC-27798 with size tag 42 and it fits like a glove but the horsehides cracking up. Another original in goatskin would be nice.
What have you got?

Hey Grant ~ I was looking through the club back-list and spotted a reply from you to a fellow member a year ago that you had a number of original A-2's in size 42.
I prefer the look and feel of the originals and after over fifty years of wear an tear on my ole Doniger its come time to hang er up for display only.
So if you still have a few A-2's still wearable in the $1000 - $1500. range it might suit me fine?

Hey caddy,
Yes, I do have a few originals in the $1500 range. Can you give me measurements of your sweet looking Doniger so I can see what might work for you?

Best,
Grant

My Doniger was labeled a 44 so always a little big because I've always been an old fashioned size 42 at 5 foot ten inches and weigh 150 pounds.
I'm looking for an original with good leather, decent knits and lining but not perfect cause I don't mind a little wear. But I do prefer that any jacket I buy has its original label and size tag still intact.
Thanks Doug

Hi Lucas. Any chance I can Persuade you to ship it to Toronto for the $80? postal code M6R 2C3
Hi- I'd like to use your latest photo of the Dubow for a critique of the Eastman Dubow. It won't be all positive- is that OK? Otherwise I can use internet photos. The jacket LOOKS great but it has flaws as a Dubow copy.

Hey there,

I am still trying to talk myself into/out of this jacket.

One question on the sleeve length. Is that measurement to the cuff or including the cuff?

Thanks,

Jon
Sir! I would like to ask you a favour, please. I want to make a collar for my French PN jacket from some spare mouton fur I have and would like to know what the measurements would be. Would you mind awfully measuring your collar - the length towards the neck (with the button holes) and the outside length. That way I would get the angle of the points right. Ta muchly in advance, Hazayad
