Wright Patterson Museum

Hi to all!
I’m sure there have been more than a few threads on this topic, but I don’t think most of us ever get tired of seeing aircraft and flight clothing. With that it mind I thought it might be nice to post a few pictures of a recent trip to the Wright Patterson Museum . I realize that many of us and particularly those of us who live outside of the US, may never have the opportunity to travel to the museum, so with that it mind I’d like to post a few photos and tell you all a little about WP National Air Force Museum . I promise not to bore you all with “Death by Photos” so I’ll post a few each day
so it won’t be overwhelming. The first thing I wanted to try to convey is the massive size of the entire complex . There are five buildings that are so big, that its difficult to imagine what the insides look like without actually being there. Each building can accommodate 40 or 50 small fighter size aircraft and a couple of the buildings house large B-52 size aircraft . I looked for a photo of the outside of the complex to try and show everyone the size and the magnitude of buildings.

To give you all an idea of the enormous size of the inside of the museum, here’s a photo taken of just the nose portion of a B-52 Bomber that looks like it is a toy among its surroundings.

It might be a glitch as all the photos on my page that I’m typing on are full size vertical. I’ll try to play with them a bit and see what happens. Did your photos come out full size or thumbnail size?

It’s an issue that plagues TFL as well. Here is a quick fix. Even though on your phone the pics might be the correct orientation they upload sideways for some reason. To fix, edit your phone picks and simply rotate them a full 360 degrees then save edit. Then upload them.

The joys of updating a forum software. The good ole if it ain’t broke don’t fix need not apply.

That said all the pics uploaded appear correct on my device. Unless you fixed it, this issue may only plague certain devices people view the site on.

so, for comparison. when I view these on my Mac book, they are indeed sideways. on my iPhone they are oriented correctly. weird, eh?

Loving the photos though, don't get me wrong.
I don’t know why this keeps happening. They are all oriented correctly when I post them and they come out correctly when I view them on my phone. Very weird ....I never had this problem with the old system. Can anyone suggest something?

It’s an amazing place isn’t it?
Unless someone has an opportunity to see it, a person just can’t believe how big the insides of the display hangers are.

Absolutely agree Burt. An amazing collection of aircraft, many of which are in airworthiness.

Please say, the Valkyrie cafe (with the image of XB-70 on the trays) is still there?
