That’s also the great benefit of the Switlik. The Flying Tigers were a mixed Army-Navy unit, so you can expect there was probably a fair bit of equipment crossover. When that jacket fit me, on cold days I’d wear it with a C-2 sweater.

thinking navy blue would be more appropriate....

I know, I know, taking it way to damn far.

Don’t forget the winter dress uniform for USN pilots was actually a forest green color. They called them Aviation Greens.

While I don't have a picture from today, this is my early '50s Cyclist jacket from Germany. All Zipp zippers from around 1950-1952. My second leather jacket, but my first good one. The first one was a Monarch with no collar fur, shredded cuffs, and a replaced zipper. This one I got for $150 from Britain three years ago. It's a little worse for wear but it's about my favorite jacket in the whole world and one I will never let go. I think I'll be buried in this one.

It’s a long-held ambition-taxi to North Queensferry cost us a fortune but it was worth every penny. What an incredible piece of engineering. Highlight of the trip for me.

It’s not as heavy as my Schott leather Pea Coat, which was also a contender but I decided it would be too much like hard work for trekking around a city. The car coat is old, battered, comfortable and with plenty of room underneath for layers, and as usual it’s done the job admirably.

Original WW2 partisan-camo sweater in the extremely rare ALPACA-version ... - there was a MERINO-version for the AIRFORCE as well but those are not as ultra rare as the ALPACA USN version (USN gear is simply better than AIRFORCE gear - see G1 vs A2) ...

Special because of the internal pouch for storage of weapons 'n ammo as well as for a chute and an emergency raft - any detail-photos desired just lemme know
