The weather just seems bonkers in OKC!

It's pretty much psychotic. The temp is 13°F right now and it is forecasted to be almost 70° on Monday and Tuesday. Even though we're pretty far south, it still gets decently cold here. Just not for long, sustained periods of time. The higher humidity levels also make it "feel" colder than what similar temps would in some other areas. My wife is from Billings, MT and 10°-30° temps there seem to be much more bearable with the dry air. Ice is typically a much bigger nuisance than the cold temps though. It was around 17° when we first started getting precip yesterday. Completely ridiculous that you can still have freezing rain/ mist at 15 degrees below the freezing mark.

Not sure if it's kosher to mix a D-1 with USN attire, but I'm doing it anyway.

Sometimes cold days call for cold solutions. Aviation leathercraft, not the most popular on here. I've got an aero but sometimes you just want maximum warmth and a pocket. View attachment 183085View attachment 183089 (sorry clueless with these things- getting the pic to show in the post)
Brilliant jacket, I've had mine for over 28yrs ,can wear it with a tee-shirt at -10.

At the Forth Bridge, Scotland, with the old Schott car coat. Was dying to bring the B-3, but there have been several occasions when I was glad I didn’t. As usual, it’s doing a superb job on my 60th birthday trip to Edinburgh.

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful part of the world. And congratulations on turning 60, Mikey! (I am hot on your heels in that department myself)...
