nice pond, sir, presumably serving as dogdip ?

That's the small one which is linked to our larger one off to the left, out of shot. The dogs allowed in for training etc in but only when they are told they can. These ponds, and a couple of others over by the barns close to what was the yard where the farm horses were kept, have been here hundreds of years and are marked on the earliest thythe maps. The biggest pond over by the yard has an entry and exit slope so the horses could go in after a days work in the fields etc. Other animals could use it too and of course they would stand the wagons and carts in there to tighten up the wooden wheels in the summer. The water caused the wood to swell and iron tyres contract.

For our metrically-inclined friends, that’s -18 C, and a feels-like temperature of -27 C.

The Real Simons B-15C is getting a trial by fire (or rather, the opposite) today, and it’s holding up really well - with the help of a Navy Gob sweater, and M-1951 wool pants (I need all three branches today), and long johns, and gloves, etc.

I’ll post a better picture of the whole get-up this evening.

Jan, those temps are frankly ridiculous. B-15C looks great though and glad you're wrapping up.
