What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

I’m alway conscious of the potential of Crown Zips to have problems, so I’m always mindful of seating the male end of the zip and if it doesn’t work the first time, to re seat it and to be gentle with it and not pull to hard on the puller. As a matter of fact I mentioned to @YoungMedic how I was always careful when zipping up the jacket. So the Crown has been working well over the years and hopefully will continue to do so.

Ah yeah, the dreaded tape fabric tearing and detaching from the insert pin.

Have you had to lubricate the chain so the slider runs smoothly over time?

Thank for input!

Yes I have . I take a small artists paint brush and using a substance known as “Rig Grease” (Stands for Rust Inhibiting Grease)I put a very light coat of it on the teeth of the zip, being very careful not to get any on the tape. It’s seems to work fine and I’ve been doing it for years . It seems to last longer than taking a graphite pencil and running up and down the teeth .

Been away on a fire deployment for 2 months in middle of Nowhere, Victoria......so haven't been wearing much leather lately

Got a week off before getting back out, so I'll probably try and wear this RMC Buco J24 (yeah it has a zipper in quilted lining that isn't normal for RMC jackets, I had it modded so I didn't boil like a lobster in Australian humidity) or the new "glossy teacore" J24 my wife had made for my Christmas gift

Love the color and texture of that one, @LV426.
Love too !! My 1st impression was it was too light brown and a little dull , but no , there is a lot of subtlety with the folds and grain . And the goatskin is so souple ! I'm about to be more a "Goat" ( not a Goth !) than a HH . I must see that with JC for the next GW. I understand that HH as gets more patina in shorter timing , goat is instantly molding the body and gets cool folds . Or finding chrome tanned leather. In fact I would like to get a leather that fold well .

This A-2 has the defects of its qualities, it is surely the perfect copy of a military jacket that is not asked to be magnificent but to be functional, especially in a narrow cockpit like that of WW2 fighter planes. It has a non-flamboyant color (russet), it is flexible and comfortable to wear.
I imagine that this must have also been the case for the A-2s of the war era, otherwise with all the gear they put on over the A-2 I wonder how they could have handled the controls with certain reproductions of A-2 HH that stand up when you put them on the ground...

Totally ! Flexibility is the key ! How do you feel with your Dubow ? The pic i see in the thread "sale" seems to be souple but still in the break'n . The hide and color is wonderful . I'm back in mailing process with JC , talking about the Bronco he told me that the knitts on this one are the best ever had , he has a stock of them : good news . So , i'm on the way to purchase MY GW this time . I have to think wisely and listen carefully to the JC advices. To end with the Bronco , I love HER ! Grain , color even if not colorful and shine and a lot of other details like the lining , cut of the colar .... and so on ! ;)

I love my Dubow in Shinki, it goes perfectly with my Wesco or Red wing boots, I'm comfortable with it.
I would like to put a squadron patch on it but I don't dare yet, it's the problem with expensive jackets.
I will probably contact JC, but not for an A-2 (I have more than one), but for his B-15a, which tempts me terribly.
If he agrees to increase the total length a little, because 64 cm even if it's historical it's for dwarves, right? :)
