What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

I’m alway conscious of the potential of Crown Zips to have problems, so I’m always mindful of seating the male end of the zip and if it doesn’t work the first time, to re seat it and to be gentle with it and not pull to hard on the puller. As a matter of fact I mentioned to @YoungMedic how I was always careful when zipping up the jacket. So the Crown has been working well over the years and hopefully will continue to do so.

Ah yeah, the dreaded tape fabric tearing and detaching from the insert pin.

Have you had to lubricate the chain so the slider runs smoothly over time?

Thank for input!

Yes I have . I take a small artists paint brush and using a substance known as “Rig Grease” (Stands for Rust Inhibiting Grease)I put a very light coat of it on the teeth of the zip, being very careful not to get any on the tape. It’s seems to work fine and I’ve been doing it for years . It seems to last longer than taking a graphite pencil and running up and down the teeth .

Been away on a fire deployment for 2 months in middle of Nowhere, Victoria......so haven't been wearing much leather lately

Got a week off before getting back out, so I'll probably try and wear this RMC Buco J24 (yeah it has a zipper in quilted lining that isn't normal for RMC jackets, I had it modded so I didn't boil like a lobster in Australian humidity) or the new "glossy teacore" J24 my wife had made for my Christmas gift

Love the color and texture of that one, @LV426.
Love too !! My 1st impression was it was too light brown and a little dull , but no , there is a lot of subtlety with the folds and grain . And the goatskin is so souple ! I'm about to be more a "Goat" ( not a Goth !) than a HH . I must see that with JC for the next GW. I understand that HH as gets more patina in shorter timing , goat is instantly molding the body and gets cool folds . Or finding chrome tanned leather. In fact I would like to get a leather that fold well .
