One day of service gets you the Veteran tag here in Australia...

I got a bit emotional on the weekend when I played a poignant Australian Vietnam War ballad 'I was only 19'.

It struck me that I have devoted a great element of my adult life paying tribute to soldiers, sailors and aviators that served one, four or six years. While I concede that my torments do not match many of the experiences of the greater generations... After ticking over decades of service, for the first time, it triggered a sense that I am worthy.... worthy of holding my head high too....
