gw sat [security aviation togs]. this is the one that I landed from oz. I've been wearing since. got caught in the rain twice, and let it dry in the sun. besides some graining due to rain and sun, the over all color has become a little bit mottled. additional laid flat pix.View attachment 79941View attachment 79942View attachment 79943View attachment 79944View attachment 79945View attachment 79946View attachment 79947View attachment 79940

That is one spectacular jacket, Vic. Do you happen to know what flavour of horsehide it's made out of? Wear it in good health.

To keep the natural order of things in balance round these parts I've gone for a quizzical look today with my GW RW23380. Comments on fit would be appreciated. It's just a tick short in the body and arms but on the boundary I reckon and it's not uncomfortable. Am I overthinking this?

It looks like a good fit but give us a photo with it zipped up. It’s easier to tell what’s going on with it .

The fit is definitely good . I see a very slight bit of pulling across the upper chest when it’s zipped all the way up. This is fairly normal unless you like a jacket with a bit more room that you can layer under. I’d call it a wartime fit and a it looks good on you .

Oh if you’re worried about the arm length it’s fine. The knits are just on the verge of tunneling so it’s actually perfect . You’ll want that little bit of knit length for when the sleeves begin to crease up. The waist length? …. I have a number of jackets that sit just around or below the belt line . Remember that high waisted pants were the norm in those days … not waist length jeans:).
Looks good …

Thanks Burt (and thanks Kermit) much appreciate the advice. I picked this up on sale in the middle of Lockdown here in 2020 and although it's smidge shorter in the arm and body than my ELC RW27552 that actually makes it a great jacket on warmer days. It's starting to get a bit of character.

Phil, Id say that by all appearances, the sleeve lengths and general fit are spot on.
Thats the real Jimmy Stewart look right there, but with better sleeve lengths...
I can see the chest pull Burt mentions, but as long as you can manoeuvre, I think thats OK.
I rarely wear my A-2s zipped up myself.
I think the jacket could be a touch longer in the body, but thats to my taste.
Love the look of this jacket! Would be good to see this in person at the airshow ;)
