Still in the Star, but now complete with Old Growler, pork scratchings and picked cockles and hand sanitizer(!), heaven!

I will Tim, and god willing we'll all be in a sunnier place very soon.

I reckon when this crap is finished we should organise a VLJ get-together at one of the airshows over in the UK, Duxford maybe. I reckon even this year will be buggered up but if we aim and organise something for next summer once all this crap is over and done with, it's possibly a goer. And it'd give the guys over Stateside a bit of time to save a few pennies and organise to come over.

Maybe I'm pissing in the wind and it's late at night after a couple of beers but it sounds like a good idea!

Maybe we should sound the idea out and see if it's viable in another thread. Good thing about leaving it to next year is it gives time for this CV shit to be over and done with, and for people to save some money to make the trip especially those coming from the States.

Boy it'd be awesome to have a big meet up!

We should and can do a Zoom meetup. Sounds lame but it’d be a realistic way to bridge the continents together.

I thought I would get this out of storage to try on. Painted as a gift by a dear friend of my family and me it has been to snug to wear for many a year. Not that I ever wore it other than on very special and appropriate occasions.
This, along with the original jacket it was copied from plus related original items from the same friend will be passed into the guardianship of my son when the time comes.
This is actually the second jacket he painted for me. I'm pretty sure the first I sent over back in the mid - ish 90's was a Sefton but either his leather prep or paint used meant large areas of the artwork began to peel and it subsequently became clear that what was left would also come away. I felt awkward about this but that was brushed aside and I was told to send another A-2 over PDQ, the only other repro I had available to hand just then was this W&G which in reality was not a patch on the Sefton. I prepped this one myself, stuck it in a box and sent it across the Atlantic. Years later, while the paint has cracked a bit here and there it generally still looks ok.

Excuse the windflap being askew, that was the result of diving for my phone after it was blown off the wall I sometimes use to stand it on.
