Did they by any chance have Warehouse? I know @Grant is a fan of them, so they’ve gotta be good. Shame about the Lofgrens - were they able to give you a good idea of what size you’d need?

They had two different models of Warehouse jeans. One was a western cut and the other was a wider cut WWII or pre-war style jean. I didn't try on the western cut and the other pair was just too relaxed for my taste with way too much room in the seat.

I really liked the slim straight fit Fullcount model that looked like it was based on a Levis 501, but there were only 3 pairs. None of which were close to my waist size. The FC's were by far my preference as far as the brands that they carried in-store.

The Orslow 107's fit really well. Just a touch too baggy in the seat. I honestly didn't think their quality was significantly better than the Bronson 1969 selvedge jeans that are $200 less though. That's what kept me from purchasing a pair of 107's.

The two employees that helped me (both were wonderful and one was wearing an original USN A-2 BTW), weren't sure on the M-43 sizing. I think they'd have both 9.5's and 10's shipped to the store. I have in-laws approximately 1 hour SW of Santa Fe, so I'll likely do that the next time that we visit.

Yeah, Natalie has a pair of FC's women's jeans, and the cloth is fantastic - Zimbabwe Cotton really makes some great denim.

Here she is and an actual ''barn find'', all original, well 98% of what you see is, paint with the 30's pinstripes is vivid and still well defined. Seat (now Brooks) and pedals (now modern Czech tricycle) had to be changed. I did ride the original 50's balloon tires until last year, they were dry and gone, but oversized like nothing you can find today. It's a pity cause is did give a vtg feel to the ride and look. I am still looking for a pair of original gibsons pedals....
It makes for a very fun ride being so different in the riding position, slow to no braking power, etc. Vintage bicycles are also a illness by the way...;)

Stick on a few Maxxis balloon tires. Might not fit between the forks though.

Tim, after two hurricanes, am I detecting a thousand-yard stare? You've got a bit of this energy:

They seem to be on the must have list for the guys with bikes around here these days. Along with the following: 50 to 70 years old
Accountant or similar occupation
Grey goatee
Shaved head
An abundance of fringes(jacket, chaps, saddle bags etc)
Boots with soles like snow tires
Predator sunglasses
They cruise Starbucks looking for trouble.

The rim dia is the challenge, old canadian exoteric size. I've seen a dutch raw rubber color tires that are amazing looking and the right rim size, looking forward to try them.

Nice. What diameter rims are those? I'm running my twenty year old Brodie which was a nice almost two thousand dollar bike at the time. Worth more than my old Toyota Tercel, which I drove to work at the old Dockyards Esquimalt BC. In the navy. Now everybody wants the new size 27 or 29 if you are taller. Anyways, I'm sticking with my old 26 and I just bought a couple of Maxxis tires NOS to keep it going indefinitely.

Recently going to work there and back takes twenty five minutes. My car was being repaired and I rode to work on my bike. An hour and forty minutes a day of riding. Get into shape pretty quick at six in the morning in the dark with your bike lights going, early trucks and buses etc on the road in the city.
