@Griffon_301 I absolutely love my ELC B-10s and 15, but I could not pay the current asking money for another.
BR can still be found new or really good seconds for half of what ELC is asking (and a slightly more robust jacket imo).

Don't have a photo but ordered and I'm wearing the ANJ-3 jacket size 44 from AVI Leather today. What a perfect spring/autumn jacket! @Brettafett Thanks for your review which led me to the jacket.

The sheepskin is lighter in weight compared to my M422A's. The look of it feels right for the WW2 photos. And even if it's not stitch for stitch "authentic", it looks right on me as much as my Willis&Geiger / Switlik M422A's

It'll serve the more overweight me well until I get back to my size 40-42 weight again.

During period between 2002 and 2010, their fabric shell jacket cost between GBP 325 to GBP 375. I forgot that was a B-15(A) or B-10.

I think I remember those prices too.
@Brettafett concerning the comparable BR jackets, the problem is that they end at size 44 usually and I would not fit into a size 44 BR B-10. I know because I tried...
on the contrary, the ELC B-15 in 44 I own is a rather comfortable jacket for me.
granted I cannot layer much beneath but then again, I don't wear it when it is so cold that additional layering would be required.
so with BR, their jackets are a trial and error size wise for me, I only buy them after trying then on or when I see dependable measurements...

I have tried 42s again, relatively recently also, and same thing... 42s are too trim/ short in both 10s and 15s. Weird.

That's my observation with BR jackets too.
their measurements seem to vary a bit from year to year.
case in point for me is their Deck Hook jacket.
following the recommendation on HPA and being able to try the one I ended up buying at Fardins shop, I ended up with a size 42 (yes they run that large!)
on a sidenote, the BR N-1 I have is a few seasons older and is sized as XXLarge (yes, those seem to run trim)

newer Deck Hooks are a bit smaller though and the size 42 feels much more trim on me than the one I own.

same with the light weight jackets I have grown quite fond of.
L-2s on me vary between size L or 42 while the new NASA jacket I got is a size 40!!!!!
the 37J1 I have is a size 44 but feels like a laaarge ELC G-1 in 46....

BR’s official recommends is wearing a field jacket/ parka over their flight jacket.

BR stuff that I have had definitely has been on the trim and short for the indicated size. The stitch count per inch is invariably high and the whole garment, while well made, tends to be rather ‘neat and tidy’.

As to ELC pricing - we’ve flogged that dead horse often in the past, it is what it is, take it or leave it.

Concerning the pricing I am fully with you and I didn't and don't want to open the discussion again.
it is what it is and as said, if I would be in for a jacket they do, I would be willing to pay the asking price too.

I have also noticed a reduction in the number of second hand ELC jackets that creep up currently. seems a lot of people stick to their babies nowadays...

I was just amazed how the price for a cloth jacket like the B-15(a) has developed over the time.
that said, I am lucky to have mine and won't be parting with it now that I know how much it would cost new

no need to apologize! I know what you mean and it took me some years to be really prepared to wear the jackets and not baby them.
that might involve tears, smears, scratches or even torn knots or fabrics.
it's just a tad bit harder when you see what the jackets cost new nowadays
