It’s a very expensive book.
Far to general for me.

There is a gap on the market for a detailed study of the Ww2 military wrist watch.

Here only a few pages shown...
...The best I have seen on A-11 to A-17 ( & A-17A) plus all the Vietnam and others incl. recent US military watches, such as divers, UDT etc watches...
Its a 3 pounder in weight and a lot of info preventing you to buy a fake....
So far worth every dime invested ( no better alternative anyway...).
No regrets..

September 1 (Labor Day Weekend) And its time to hack and set your watches back to 1943... switch out your canvas wrist band for an authentic period leather one and prepare for the inevitable A-2 jacket weather.... (sadly A-2 time is still 8 weeks away but I can look forward to it!) lol!

@Persimmon Alan , this is for you as you asked me about production figures for the Type A11 .
Waltham produced 289,215
Elgin 512,857
Bulova 108,285

These are approximate figures , so i maybe out by a few either way .

an confirm those figures...Plus Elgin produced the most, Bulova the less and now Bulova A-11 are the most wanted A-11.

7 million Elgin’s.
That is a vast difference between the 100,000 - 300,000 unit contract values of the two main rivals.
I must I am shocked at such a discrepancy
At that rate I am surprised that only one contract supplier (ie) Elgin was not used

Any news based on the cost prices re Hamilton watches ?

Pilot,

thanks for the kind words, but we both know that it is just the Ferrari rescue capsule called FIAT 500 :(

Still a great design, with much better leather quality than my BMW Z3's had, but with 7 years and 120.000 km it gets kinda old ...
