Is storing modern, lightweight sheepskin jackets on hangers still a no-no?

I just picked up my first shearling jacket, an ELC D-1. I had initially planned to hang it on an oversized motorcycle jacket hanger (like the Baker hanger shown below), but have had second thoughts. It's currently being stored on a closet shelf, folded lengthwise. My concern with storing the jacket in that fashion is developing creases in the back and on the sleeves. I'm also concerned that the white painted shelf surface may somehow affect the acryllic coating.

Is a modern D-1 hanger safe or am I asking for a blowout? How does everyone store their shearling jackets flat / folded and not develop creases?

Maybe it’s from years of hearing horror stories about original shearling jackets falling apart on hangers, or maybe it’s just me, but I just don’t trust shearling jackets on hangers. Mostly due the heavy weight of the jackets pulling down on the shoulders when the jackets on the hanger. The type of hanger makes no difference to me .

Does this look like a safe option or am I going to likely have ceases develop over time?

That'll be fine. When we moved from Norway to Oz, my Irvin was in the bottom of a packing box under a ton of other clothing. It stayed like that for 3 months for the shipping and then in a storage unit for a year, so 15 months in a box, When I got it out it was crumpled like you wouldn't believe. I was initially quite worried that the multitude of creases were permanent. I needn't have worried within a few days of being taken out, it was back to its old self.

Don't fret about creases from it lying like that in a cupboard.

Just what I needed to know. Thanks Smithy!
