Vintage CWU jacket

Is $100 a good price for this jacket?
Hello all, I am just getting into vintage and it is nice to meet you all. I am looking for a CWU 45/36 style jacket and happened across this one. Does this price seem fair for the condition? I did some research and I learned the polyamine fabric and “back gussets” are desirable and this seems to have that. I don’t see any obvious damage either

That is one of the early ones with a bi-swing back-it was deleted after it was reckoned it would catch on the cockpit on ejection. Note it precedes the CWU nomenclature. Have a look low down on the inside, there might be a pocket with an orange signal flag-or at least the Velcro where it was attached. If it fits, I would bite their hand off. I had a pristine one like that, sold it for peanuts.

Thank you. It doesn’t have an inside pocket. Does that make it less desirable? And it’s in good condition in your eyes? I am not sure how to ascertain that besides no obvious tears etc

No, it doesn’t make it less desirable, it was a thing the earlier ones had which was later deleted. A little pouch low down on the lining, attached by Velcro, with a square of orange fabric with unfinished edges designed for signalling. Condition looks fine-I’ve known the stitching to be a bit iffy on some, but seems OK.

Thank you. When you say bite their hand off, you mean you would purchase it?

Also do you know if this is a cold weather or warm weather version?

There are a fair few on EBay-$100 seems pretty good though. Doesn’t seem too badly faded-don’t let’s forget it’s 50-odd years old. It’s the cold weather version, the 36/P has a sort of mesh lining. A quick Google doesn’t reveal where, but I’m fairly sure it’s US made. I don’t think you’ll go far wrong from what I can see.

CWU-36/P is the summer light version.
The CWU-45/P is the cold weather version.
GREENBRIER IND. is a US Co. specialized in garment and accessories.
They were awarded several US military contracts in the 1970/80s.. maybe still have some.

I’ve got an early CWU - 45P kicking about somewhere with the bi swing back in XL. Never seem to get around to wearing it.
