Combat clone depending on what you asked John for, could be sewing with a human touch( not straight but solid), misaligned pockets etc and burnishing the high spots and wear points to make the jacket appear more worn, all very subtle and well done, not over the top
Have a look on his site , there are several posted up in his catalog of made jackets

'm sure JC would know how to reproduce a great patina on white sheepskin.
Quick question...
How many fellas around here are already thinking about getting John to make them one
I mentioned it to him in our messages and I’d love to send it his way to work off of and potential conservation. I want to preserve this thing as best as possible.Man .. that thing is rarer than rocking horse shit !
Congrats on a great find .
If I can offer a suggestion …
Send that jacket to John Chapman when he’s making yours . He can use it as a “go bye” to duplicate as near as possible the wear and coloring of your new B-3 with the original
And while he’s at it he might just be able to give you some insight on restoring the original and knowing John he might even offer to restore it for you for a fee .
( John if you’re reading this and I’ve over stepped here I apologize )
Well … if not the early unfinished style certainly a later model would be a consideration ….. but living in a hot climate kills that hope .
