Set up an account just for EBay had confirmation all is ok and got paid for an item I have sold but today a message to say my payments were on hold because I haven't added a PayPal account to pay for selling fees such as shipping labels...
Confused.

Meanwhile with the new payment system they now hold on to your money for 3 days , collecting thousands on the “float” or interest they make until they make a payout to your account . Where’s the financial police ? Where’s the anti trust investigators?
Where’s the Department of Justice or the Treasury Department ? It just pisses ya off!

Apparently you Mus have two registered payment sources
1 Bank account to receive funds from item sales
2 PayPal or a credit card for fees such as postage labels

I still enjoy buying off on the bay sometimes but I would not want to be a seller the way they are doing things now.

Sounds like how banks used to work! Sit on transfers etc for a few days x number of transfers and happy days with the interest they make over those few days!! Should be illegal now transfers are pretty much instant - not used greed bay for some time now so won’t be anytime soon!!!

All works okay for me, goes smoothly. I was a bit reluctant about the changes but oddly my last few incoming payments from sales have hit my bank in 24 hours (initially it was taking 2 days). Now if selling to Europe was as easy as it was previously then that would be great but sadly it isn’t.

No issues being paid but eBay have suspended my payments unless I add a credit card or PP
account.
I had a frustrating conversation with an advisor as I tried to determine whether my incoming payments were on hold or if I needed a method so could buy things. In the end I have up because it was like talking to a robot.

So with the break away from Pay Pal for getting paid from an EBay sale, you must now provide all of the same information about your checking account and bank routing numbers to EBay by a certain date or you will not be allowed to sell on EBay . So I complied and followed the I instructions provided, because occasionally I’ll sell a few things on their site. So now the new procedure is that you sell your item and the buyer pays EBay the money. Now prior to this new system you could see that money hit your PP account within minutes and know that the money was paid and ship your item ( often all in the same day). Now however , the magnificent idiots at EBay hold on to your money for between 2 and 5 days before it goes into your personal checking or bank account . Now I used to have a certain amount of personal pride by mailing out my sold item on the same day I was paid , because that’s what I would like to have happen if I bought something . It used to piss me off when I paid a guy on Monday and he didn’t ship it out until Saturday . Well now that the magnificent idiots have gotten involved the confirmation of payment process takes 2 days and then what they call the “Pay Out “ process can take another day or two before you see the money in your account . Now here’s where the it gets interesting , from what I can see , EBay still expects you to ship your item out within a 3 or 4 day window or face a naughty feedback report from them and the buyer . So from what I’m understanding EBay expects you to have faith in their oversight and ship your item without actually having the money in your account prior to the shipping . Well with a $900.00 Good Wear …. That ain’t happening Heisenberg !!…Now if I’ve gotten any of this screwed up or wrong please anyone feel free to correct me …actually I hope I’m wrong because I just sold a jacket that the buyer paid for according to EBay, but I have no money in either my PP or my checking account and I’ve been instructed by EBay to ship the jacket by Thursday . So I saved the best part until last . EBay sells this new program by telling you that it will expedite the transaction and will save you money because PP fees have now been eliminated . However , it seems that EBay added a small handling charge to complete the financial exchange for the sale and while they did save the seller money it was about 4 tenths of a percent .
Waiting to hear you from you guys and any experience you’ve had with this new system .
Someone please tell me I’m wrong about all this .
I just sold an A-2 for $250 and only received $210, eBay kept $40! What a rip off

I haven't bought anything from EvilBay for about 5 years now. I used to buy a lot of stuff on there but it's utter shit now. And forget about selling on there now too.

Crap.

Yeah, I buy and sell on vintage European sites now, easier without all the red tape and bs, I used to sell lots of militaria to the UK about 5 years ago, some good stuff sourced here in Europe, Pitney Bowes waded in later and handled shipping for fleabay

It's terrible Jonny and I refuse to buy or sell anything on there because you're bound to get shafted one way or the other.
Continually Smithy, I don't blame you, I've been shafted a couple of times, once on a antique Zulu shield I sent to a guy in the UK not telling me he redirected it and sent it through Australian customs for him to collect when he was home, obviously they seized it, animal product, he should have know better, I lost all, greed bay found in his favour

I gave up on selling or buying stuff on there a long time ago as it's utterly hopeless now. You're better off buying and selling through specialist boards like here - right target audience and no EvilBay crap.
