Wasn't McArthur's A-2 a large size Cable?
Some pics do appear to be a RW, maybe he wore a different jacket at different times.

RW during WW2 (the jacket's been found), Cable during Korean War (according to JC).

I do like the idea of adding pics of well-known pilots wearing a specific contract for context.

The first two you mentioned are actually already listed under their respective contracts, but I like the idea - it would certainly be a valuable contribution and would help us be a bit more thorough about it. So far it's just been whoever I happen to know off the top of my head.

I agree! What I would be really interested in is a collection of a) ww2 photos about the given contract, and b) a list of famous pilots wearing that contract

I think that's a great idea for a complimentary thread Brett. And like Gregg I think some wartime pics of a known maker/contract even where we don't know the airman would be good.
