I had noticed that the Anniversary jumped from 360 to 400 and the Real Deal from 300 to 350.

What was the previous Hwyman price?

Will told me prices had to rise because of materials and their shipping costs . My advice buy a Capeskin NOW.
I notice the Anj-4 is up from £500 to £600 !!!!! ouch...

ELCs prices just jumped again sometime in the last week or so as well. Thats two major price increases in the last 6 months.

Hmm...
Something fishy about Aero and Eastman having almost exactly the same price of £600 for an Anj-4....not sure if they are worth it IMO. Maybe it's time for RMNZ to start making them again !

Just thought you might like to know that sheepskin is only £3 per sq. foot. [From the horses mouth] It takes about £150 of materials to make a jacket.

Uh huh ...

I believe it was £425.00.

So.. 15% price rise.

The thing is, the £ as been trading around $1.6 for some time now.
Inflation in the UK is very low.
Wages have been kept in check by the recession.
The two biggest costs, the leather from Horween USA and labour are steady.

The biggest winners so far have been the Japanese wholesalers due to strong yen.
Clearly ELC and Aero want a piece of the action !

Yes that's true from my tannery. I know Aero are still buying from the US where it's much more than that. I wonder if it's horsehide rather than sheepskin that has gone up so much ?

Dunno, John ... looks like across the board, but it's hard to remember the old prices. The B-10 is £295.00 now, that seems high when it's not their best work.

Suspicious though that Aero and ELC both put up prices at the same time to the same amount..

Looks like Mark Moye just followed suit with the Aero eBay listings. The Cafe Racer I ordered last October just went from $675 to $799. Not a small jump!

They used to do free shipping to USA for jacket over £350.00!
Now to USA £50!
No more leather jacket!!!!!

Well this will hit the pocket of those chaps on the FL who are fixated with Aero civi jackets. Perhaps there will be more interesting posts over there instead of "I've ordered an Aero..... "my new Aero has just arrived ...." etc.

 Isn't it better for us that they're fixated on Aero and not running up the lead times for GW, Eastman, etc?

Fifty quid for shipping is a bit hard to take... it must certainly steer business to Mr. Moye, perhaps intentionally?

Sorry but 50 quid is cheap considering the weight and value of the jackets. Today I posted my A-1 to California, it was £77....

Business accounts don't pay anything like that. I shipped an Irvin the Japan by courier for £38.

Try using some of the brokers who advertise on Ebay. They get bulk discounts from the likes of DHL and Fedex and work out slightly cheaper.
A bit like trains really. If you just turn up at the ticket office you'll pay dearly but if you book in advance off peak it's dirt cheap. I went from Somerset to Hull which is well over 200 miles for £12.50 !
