Strange Aero vintage finish

Just came across this thread on FL and found the following images.

This is a strange experimental hide finish from the 1990s (presumably one that remained experimental).

I think that I had a ropey looking jacket like that in the '80s.

Years ago, I bought a civied M422 that looked just like this. Civied meaning that it was cut up the back in an irregular curvey way and then stitched back together again. The wind flap was cut out as well. But a very cool war torn look to the leather. Spitting image of this finish.

It might appeal to some people but for it the finish looks a mess and does not resemble any original vintage jackets that I have seen.

Yes, can't help but feel that if any other maker had put their label on this the FL members would have vilified them.

Sad but true Ian.

You guys are members there, why not post? I did. And I don't think many are liking it. More like trying to be nice as opposed to "Oh wow, looks great".

I just drop by to post images Scott; I don't care for some of what pauses for 'banter' at FL nowadays.

The "marketing" that goes on there by some does get irritating.
I get the impression there is a struggle there between those who want their "favorite makers" to be "liked" and those who are fans of established makers.
Best to just let the jackets/customer service speak for themselves.

That hide.....not for me.
I can see where it would be good camouflage if out in the dappled woods though.

I agree, crossed a line recently for me though and left a sour taste.

On the plus side, that Aero will let the owner walk with leopards without fear of discovery...

I've seen the same type of thing here and there for others as well. Let's not kid ourselves Ian.
Who cares? People do this in every sort of forum - jackets, computers, cars. Just roll with it.

True, but it annoyed me enough to give it (and the prat who posted) a wide berth.
