Star Sportswear G1 (64 contract?)

Hi, new member here!
I've been reading in this forum for quite some time now and finally created an account. I've bought my first vintage leather jacket off the internet and wanted to share it and ask for your opinion.
The tag in the jacket says it's a size 44 (runs rather small) Star Sportswear G1 from the 64 contract. Knits seem to be in great shape as there's no tears or holes, don't know if they are replacements though. The zipper seems to be replaced, at least the slider. The previous owner was either a heavy smoker or the jacket hung in a pub for some time. The jacket still has a stink to it especially the lining even after I gave it a gentle wash. The leather has some wear and tear but no holes. The leather is a bit dried out.
There's one button missing on the forward pocket.
What would you guys suggest that I should to to the jacket? I would like to replace the slider of the zipper as it doesn't function properly. I bought some Pecards leather dressing which I was planning on treating the leather with.
I want to wear the jacket and don't mind it's used look.
Any advice on how I get get rid of the smell?
Some pictures, happy to take more

Hi there, the knittings on your STAR are replacements - that would be the first thing i`d replace.

As for the zipper i wouldn`t worry.

For odors i only know that eg selvadge denim which should get washed looses any odors after some time in the freezer. That usually kils all kind of bacteria but i do not know whether it works with a leather jacket as well ...

Cheers from Germany
