Sellers Tactic ???

The seller listed a painted and patched Cooper A 2 repro. a couple weeks ago, at that time, it was make an offer or $ 425.00 BIN. I made an offer, but it was declined. As the auction neared the end, the seller reduced his BIN to $ 375.00. The auction ended with no sale. The problem with this jacket is that # 1 - it's a Cooper # 2 - as previously discussed, jacket art is very personal, and this one is really 'pimped' out with rank, etc.

The seller re-listed the jacket the other day with a BIN of $ 375.00. Today the seller increased the BIN up to $ 395.00.

Did this seller increase the BIN based on the number of 'watchers' for his listing ? Is he expecting one of his watchers who knows what the first BIN price to pay the increased BIN ? I'm puzzled ?

IMHO I think a seller who puts items up for auction with a high BIN price usually (but not always ) do pretty well.
i.e.- in this case, List as auction with a BIN of $ 465.00, and let the market set the price if he wants a sale.

Another seller uses this tactic and has been doing very, very well.

This jacket just got listed, in my opinion, it's a more desirable jacket.
I'm predicting this jacket will sell before the other one. ;)

If anyone is looking for a Cooper, I have a very nice one on Ebay size 44 Long. You can check it out at item # 140377434591. I thought the price was reasonable at $99.99 US, but it doesn't seem to be getting much play. I think the velco is the problem but hey, it's a USAF issued jacket.

If anyone is interested PM me.
